Solemnization in Phase 2
From 19 June 2020, in-person Muslim marriage solemnisations will be allowed at homes and other venues, besides the Registry of Muslim Marriages (ROMM) and mosques. Solemnizations at ROMM and homes can involve up to 10 persons, excluding the solemnizer. The guests can include non-immediate family members. The limit for solemnizations at mosques and other venues is 20 persons (excluding the solemnizer), or the safe capacity of the venue, whichever is lower. All solemnizations must adhere to the safe management measures stipulated by ROMM.

For the safety of all the parties involved, ROMM encourages couples to have their solemnization via video link. For couples who prefer in-person solemnization, ROMM encourages them to have their solemnization at ROMM or at any of the designated mosques where the necessary safe management measures are already in place.

Couples are advised to contact their Kadi/Naib Kadi on the arrangements (e.g. timing and venue) for their upcoming solemnization.
